History

History
In 1990, in East Haven, Connecticut, The Chadbourne Woodshop informally started with Edward Chadbourne and son Paul Sr. making wood projects in the shop for family gifts. These projects included a wagon of blocks, wall clocks, calendars, and desk sets. They began to take on larger home projects such as solid oak raised paneled cabinets, wooden fireplace surrounds, and formal oak dining tables. In early 2004, Paul, Jr. joined his Father and Grandfather in the Woodshop to build a large entertainment center for his new home. This sparked his interest in woodworking and he went on to build custom solid walnut furniture for the nursery of his new son.

In November of 2004, Paul, Sr. and son Paul, Jr. discovered pen turning, again making gifts for family and friends. The enjoyment of creating these custom handcrafted wooden pens required a broader outlet for their quality work. The Chadbourne Woodshop officially went into business in February of 2006. Each of the pens featured here are the personally hand-turned pens of Paul, Sr and Paul, Jr.

Even though they suffered the loss of Edward in April of 2006, Paul, Sr. and Paul, Jr. are committed to maintaining their superior quality of work and will continue for a long time in memory of their father & grandfather.
